Themes - Basic Rules

One of the best things ever said about roleplay is that it is meant to be fun and it is about creating and bringing a story to life. Combat and action do make it livelier but by far it is not the only focus, or should not be, when considering engaging in interactive roleplay with others.

All rooms that are in the Theme section of Portal of dreams will be governed by the room leaders that set them up. Themes is a multi-faceted area and it would be impossible to have one set of rules that governs it all. GRP rooms, rooms that are controlled by the staff, though does need to have guidelines set forth and we have kept them very simple and generalized.

All theme GRP rooms will be Free Form in nature, up to and including any combat that occurs. Combat is covered a bit more thoroughly HERE.

All rooms that are linked to the TransDimensional Station (GRP travel room) should have a note for their members specifying which of the other rooms they are agreeable to engaging in roleplay with should paths cross in that room. Just because a room is linked to the GRP room does not mean that everyone is required to accept roleplay they are not comfortable with. Roleplays in the travel room only count towards the history of the rooms and characters as long as the room controller that the character is from agrees.

Kills and Captures are permissible as long as both players agree to the actions, if not then consider it null and void.
